There are 3 main different stages in the life of a pig. These stages
are:-Lactation period: Usually, it is the first 20-25 days in the life
of a piglet in which maternal milk is the only food. The pig begins
consuming solid foods during the final days of this period but always
in a reduced way. -Post-weaning period: This period can be divided into 2
subcategories
(pre-starter and starter) that distinguish 2 different food diets and
whose objective is to prepare the pig for the beginning of fodder.
This is probably the most critical stage in the growth of a piglet. -Fodder period: This stage comes to an end when the animal is
sacrificed. The weight of the animal at this point is between 80
and 100 Kg.
