On July 12, 2016, the Government of the Generalitat of Catalonia resolved the first call of the RIS3CAT Communities, among which is the food program coordinated by the Institut de Recerca i Tecnologia Agroalimentàries (IRTA) called INNOAPAT. The RIS3CAT is the research and innovation strategy for intelligent specialization in Catalonia with which the Catalan Government makes a commitment to R & D & I as a motor for a smarter, more sustainable and inclusive economic growth that will generate new economic activity And new jobs. Of the INNOAPAT Community have been approved 8 of the 9 projects presented, in which the CARINSA GROUP participates in 3 of them. The company Creaciones Aromáticas Industriales S.A. (CARINSA) participates as a leader in the project entitled “Perfils: Aliments amb perfils millorats adreçats a poblacions amb requeriments nutricionals” (COMRDI15-1-0028) which aims to meet the growing demand for food, food supplements and ingredients with a profile Nutritionally adapted to people with specific nutritional needs such as allergies, intolerances and / or different pathologies. To achieve this objective, a consortium of 8 partners has been established, consisting of ingredients companies, companies that produce final products for specific uses in the food sector and companies in the field of ICT together with an agent of the R & D + i. Through the synergies between different companies will share ingredients and methodologies to obtain specific products with improved nutritional profile, healthier and adapted to the specific nutritional needs of consumers. CARINSA also participates as a partner in the project “MICROBIOTA: Identification of nous ingredients modulators of the human and animal microbiota fent ús of industrial biotechnology, technological technologies and technologies big data” (COMRDI15-1-0029). The project in consortium with companies producing ingredients, final products and technology base aims to investigate in probiotics, prebiotics and symbiotics that affect the intestinal microbiota in such a way that its modulation affects positively the health of consumers and the animal health. The project will expand the knowledge of application of ingredients in the microbiota to improve health in people suffering from chronic renal failure, obesity, impaired immune system and intestinal alterations or those specifically related to women’s health in different stages of life as Pregnancy and breastfeeding. The project also extends to the effect of the compounds used in these products on the microbiota and the health ratio of terrestrial animal species (birds and pigs). Finally, the company of Preparations, Additives and Raw Materials S.A. (PAYMSA), also part of the CARINSA Group, participates in the project entitled “Ketrenovin: Research and Experimental Application of Biotechnology with KET Clau in the Collection of High Value Ingredients for the Agri-Food and Catalan Sector” (COMRDI15-1- 0030) to develop activities to obtain a new generation of ingredients for healthy eating. To achieve this, biotechnology will be used as a key tool to enable companies to obtain and validate the ingredients developed until the generation of new functional foods, functional feeds and new meat products with a better nutritional, rheological and organoleptic quality, capable of forming Part of the human diet and the animal providing a healthy added value.
